Kinky People Opening Night @ Krekelmuit, April 1998
Jona Tallieu and Bart "Red D" Van Neste have a dream...
Some 100 people show up for the first ever Kinky People party, invitations only, bring-your-friends-along policy. The general comment of the people is that the party had a unique atmosphere, a kind of family-feeling. Mission accomplished and we are on our way!

Kinky People "New Year's Eve" at the old Tallieu mansion.
The setting: an old early 20th century mansion, 3 rooms, quality food and more booze than you could handle. Some 90 people celebrated the coming of 1999, countless were refused at the door due to limited capacity. An event which was the talk of the town for months to come...

Kinky People Party @ Leiezonen, April 1999
Just for the sake of it we threw another party. Over 100 heads showed up. We introduced what would become a regular thing at Kinky People parties: free goodies!

Kinky People Returns @ Sint Martinus, August 2000
After over a year of silence and some changes in the organization Kinky People returns in great fashion. Olivier "Mr O" T'sjoen and Tom "Minus Tea" Van Cauwenberghe have joined Kinky People, replacing Jona whom we sadly lost to business life, adding their musical tastes and ideas, which further diversify the organization. Free fruit is handed out for the first time, a treat which has become an essential part of every Kinky People event since. The last beats of the night are heard way past dawn...

Kinky People @ Decadance, a blue Monday in November 2000
We decide to take a double gamble. Our first international guest, Suburban Knight from Detroit on a Monday night... The heads show up in great numbers, Mr Suburban Knight lets us down. Over 250 people do not care and show that they appreciate what we are doing by partying like madmen. It was a hard day at the office the day after...

Kinky People presents "History Of The Beat" @ Jockey, the Saturday after the previous event
For those who were unable to attend the Monday night @ Decadance we set up this free night in a small pub. A cosy get-together to catch up with our friends, whilst listening to the history of dance music as we see it.
Indeed, it started as the cocktail party we intended, but the heads turn it into the best Kinky People party ever. Pure madness, the pub owner is still recovering from seeing people getting down all over his establishment... Booze ran out way before our records, history had been made once again

Kinky People goes to Münster (Germany), February 2001
Our first party trip! Red D had been invited by Bassics, a deep house organization from Münster to come over and spin at their party. So we rented a coach and just under 40 die-hard kinkies gathered at 7am to join the trip. Germany was snowed under which made the trip truly special. The party itself was a bit of a disappointment as there were three times more kinkies than German people. But we made the best of it and partied anyway! Respect to the Bassics people.

Kinky People "Big Time" @ Decadance, March 2001-05-29
Kinky People had just welcomed three new members to the organization, and in the same week we were offered to join Cultuurschok, so this was going to be the very last "old-fashioned" Kinky People party. Plenty of heads showed up and made Decadance once again ours, testifying that "The Kinky People Collective" was stronger than ever.

Cultuurschok & Kinky People present 'Confusion'
The idea came from our newfound 'parents' Cultuurschok, the musical input had Kinky People written all over it. For the first time in Deinze people were about to experience the power and passion of live house. Red D teamed up with Jan De Neve on drums, Stijn Van Hoey on sax and Pieter D'hooghe on percussion. Together they brought a steaming 4 hour set of live house and dj'ing. The 300+ crowd was left in awe, boundaries were broken, eyes and ears were finally opened. After years of disrespect, house music was finally accepted for what it truly is: a unique form of music.

Cultuurschok & Kinky People present 'KP Summer Edition'
The sun, a nice garden, a swimming pool (albeit a little one), a truckload of sand, a bbq, live percussion and sax, it was all there. At 15h the heads slowly started arriving for the very first outdoor Kinky People event. By nightfall we moved indoors and discovered one of the greatest dj’s ever to play in Belgium: Mr Jonny McIntosh from London. A friend Red D had met through the internet who has become a regular at our parties. After that Red D, Minus Tea and L.Housensual played until dawn, with Blaze’s ‘Lovely Dae’ at sundawn being one of the best moments ever.

Kinky People @ Decadance with Fabrice Lig and Filippo Naughty Moscatello
The time had come to move one step ahead. For the very first time Kinky People was going to participate in the ‘big name dj’-strategy. But of course we did it our way. Red D had contacted several well-known dj’s personally and all were attracted by the personal touch we offered. And so Gigolo’s Filippo ‘Naughty’ Moscatello and F-Com’s Fabrice Lig showed Decadance what good music was all about. Naughty stayed with us for a couple of days and assured us we were on the right track.

New Year's eve @ Krekelmuit
A small New Year’s Eve party was set up. Some 80 people got together for a relaxed night with lots of good music and a live appearance by the ‘Confusion Band’. Nothing spectacular but lost of smiles and good atmosphere made it a good night.

Kinky People @ Decadance with Russ Gabriel
The second Kinky People night with a ‘big-name dj’ @ Decadance. We had a great time with a great dj and person: Mr Russ Gabriel. The Switch StuBru appearance allowed Kinky People to hit the national airwaves (and le jeune Dieu and Red D to fuck up the 22h news…). A packed Decadance witnessed the growing strength of our organization, and some 30 refused-at-culture-club-for-not-looking-hip-enough people appreciated our open-mindedness. An omen for the future?

Kinky People @ Café & Co with Martin Red and Efabulous [14/09/02]
One of the coolest party settings ever, and one of the hardest-work events ever… After Decadance it was time to hit the Ghent party scene with something truly of our own. For this occasion we flew in Mr Martin Red from Birmingham UK and Ms Efabulous from New York USA and had a blast together with 500+ attendants. The definitive start for us in trendy town Ghent?

Kinky People @ Café & Co with Jonny McIntosh [23/11/02]
For the second Kinky People party at our new found venue we couldn’t help but invite our favourite dj Mr Jonny McIntosh. Due to heavy competition the turnout wasn’t quite as anticipated, but the party itself was very much ‘kinky style’ with people dancing all over the place. Mission partly accomplished but this was going to be the last party @ Café & Co, let’s just say we hit some bad vibes with external parties…

Kinky People @ Jockey with Needs [13/12/02 ]
Needs has become one of the fiercest deep house crews on this planet. Producers and dj’s they represent some of the best house music of the last couple of years. Yannick Elverfeld is their main dj and we invited him for a weekend of partying. Our favourite bar Jockey was once again the setting for a local get-together and a night of musical bliss. A night later Yannick and Red D hit Decadance as guests and provided more goodies for the people.

Kinky People @ Jockey ‘DHP Belgium reunion’ [22/02/03 ]
Through www.deephousepage.com we have met some very nice people and very good dj’s, so we thought it would be nice to hook up with all the members from Belgium and have a good time. We started with a football match which was gloriously won by Kinky People and ended with a superb disco set of our favourite Jonny McIntosh.

Kinky People @ Culture Club with Antal, All Out K and Fabrice Lig [28/03/03 ]
This was it: the big league. Not willing to give in we continue to attack the Ghent people with quality music and our ideas of what a good party should be. Musically we couldn’t have done much better with our guests Fabrice Lig and the Rush Hour boys Antal and All Out K from Amsterdam. Any doubts were quickly subsiding as the Culture Club quickly saw 600+ people getting down to our sounds. We’ll be back in October…

Kinky People @ Clues for a ‘Classics’ night [31/04/03 ]
We just had to do a party at one of our home spots. All our dj’s are residents at Clues and the owner has been supporting us since the day Red D threw a birthday party at his bar way back in 1998. For the occasion we chose to do a techno-classics night to spoil the people that have been coming to Kinky People since day one. Clues was redecorated in sublime fashion and the champagne bar was the VIP-spot of the evening. Let’s just say it was way past dawn when Red D played the last record…

Kinky People @ Jockey: Summer Vibes!! [09/08/03 ]
What can be more fun than a combination of beats, sun, bbq, a swimming pool, beautiful girls and sun-tanned men? You tell me because Summer Vibes had it all and it was great. DJ friends from around the world were there, and the crowd was in the best of moods. We cannot wait till next year!

Kinky People @ Culture Club: Theo Parrish & Reggie Dokes [03/10/03]
Daring, innovative and stubborn are three words that can be used to describe this night. We took a huge risk bringing one of our personal favourites over from Detroit, accompanied by a fresh face on the same scene. The weekend was great, the party was great but the crowd did not show up to capacity. Blaming the ones that weren't there? Of course we do!
